The Graduate Programme The Kirby Electrical Engineering Graduate Programme is a 24‑month programme designed to kick‑start your career in Power&Renewables.
You will:
Be supported by a dedicated mentor
Work on live HV, MV and renewables projects
Complete structured rotations across Engineering, EHS, Quality, Planning and Commercial teams
Receive high‑quality technical, personal and commercial training through the Kirby Academy
On successful completion, graduates progress to Electrical Project Engineer.
The Role As a Graduate Electrical Engineer in Power&Renewables, you will support the delivery of electrical works on major infrastructure projects. You’ll gain hands‑on site experience while developing your engineering, safety and commercial awareness.
What You’ll Be Involved In
Supporting electrical installation works on HV/MV and renewables projects
Reviewing drawings, specifications and technical submissions
Assisting with site inspections, snagging and coordination
Supporting procurement, material tracking and supplier engagement
Participating in testing, commissioning and energisation activities
Maintaining quality, safety and progress documentation
Working closely with project teams, subcontractors and clients
What We’re Looking For Essential
Level 8 Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
Good understanding of electrical engineering fundamentals
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
Desirable
Internship or placement experience
Interest in power systems, renewables, substations or energy infrastructure
Familiarity with AutoCAD

Strong problem‑solving and communication skills
Enjoy working as part of a team
Organised, professional and safety‑focused
