Senior Environmental, Health and Safety Advisor About McKeon Group: Based in Ashbourne, Co. Position We have a number of exciting projects due to commence in the coming months and are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Senior Environmental, Health&Safety (EHS) Advisor to join our team. This is a key role supporting the successful delivery of projects to the highest standards, with a strong focus on safety, sustainability, quality, and regulatory compliance.
Working closely with the EHS Manager, project teams, and subcontractors, this role will play an integral part in promoting a positive safety culture across all sites while ensuring full compliance with current legislation and company management systems.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure compliance with all relevant EHS legislation in consultation with the EHS Manager
Support company compliance with ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, and ISO 45001:2018 management systems
Prepare Project-Specific Safety Plans and associated documentation
Submit statutory notifications (AF2) to the HSA
Prepare and review RAMS (Risk Assessments&Method Statements)
Manage Work Permit applications and related site documentation
Conduct regular site visits, inspections, and audits
Review and approve subcontractor RAMS and carry out subcontractor safety reviews
Deliver site inductions and toolbox talks to promote safety awareness
Assist with employee safety training reviews and competency records
Prepare and compile documentation for pre-qualification submissions
Attend site meetings where required and provide relevant EHS reports
Support additional EHS initiatives and projects as required
Reports to EHS Manager
Location Projects are located mainly across Leinster, Head Office in Ashbourne Co. Meath.
Requirements
Third Level Qualification in Environmental / Health and Safety required
Minimum 4 years’ experience in H&S in Construction, ideally with Main Contractor
Excellent verbal and written English with the ability to communicate effectively across all levels within the Company
Have a high level of competency and accuracy in writing and maintaining clear and professional documentation
Previous experience of Procore and iAuditor an advantage
Possess strong planning, organisational and teamwork skills
Experience of working in live environments such as educational facilities beneficial
Ability to build strong relationships with clients, staff and sub-contractors.
A strong commitment to promoting a culture of Safety and continuous improvement throughout the organisation.
Should be honest, flexible, hardworking, able to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
The role would suit an enthusiastic, hardworking, hands on and motivated individual.
