About This Role

Role Purpose

The purpose of this role is to support the effective operation of the Compliance and Complaints team within the Media Landscape division by contributing to the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of processes and procedures. The role involves gathering, analysing, and presenting information to inform decision-making, as well as preparing high-quality responses to a range of queries and correspondence. It plays a key part in complaint handling and compliance activities, ensuring timely and accurate engagement with stakeholders across the public, industry, civil society, and Government. 

About the Team/Division

The Compliance & Complaints team sits in the Media Landscape division and handles complaints about broadcast and video on demand content not meeting standards in relation to matters such as harm, offence, incitement to violence/hatred, fairness, objectivity and impartiality. The team also monitors compliance with media service codes and rules, broadcasting contracts and European Works obligations for broadcasters and VOD providers.

Key Responsibilities

• Supporting the design, development, and implementation of new processes and procedures, and contributing to their ongoing administration and improvement. 

• Gathering, reviewing, analysing, summarising, and presenting data and information in a clear and structured format to support effective decision-making.

• Engaging with a diverse range of stakeholders, including members of the public, industry representatives, civil society organisations, and Government officials, through clear and professional written, verbal, and face-to-face communication.

• Providing supervision and support to Clerical Officers, while working closely with the line manager to ensure delivery of team objectives and effective achievement of service priorities

• Analysing and preparing clear, accurate, and timely responses to queries, issues, and correspondence.

About You

Experience, Skills, Knowledge & Qualifications

Essential Criteria

• Proven clerical and/or administrative experience, with particular strength in file management, records management, and maintaining accurate documentation systems. 

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to produce clear, concise reports and engage effectively with a range of internal and external stakeholders. 

• Excellent organisational skills with a high level of attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities effectively. 

• Demonstrated ability to work independently while also contributing positively within a team environment. 

• Strong time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines in a structured and fast-paced environment.

Desirable Criteria

• Proven experience contributing to or supporting projects, including coordinating tasks, tracking progress, and supporting delivery outcomes. 

• Experience in developing, implementing, or improving administrative processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and consistency. 

• Familiarity with document management systems or electronic records systems.

• Experience working in a structured or regulated environment where accuracy and compliance are important..

Key Information

Benefits, Package & Pay

• This position is offered on a Permanent basis.

• Full time, 35 hrs per week

• Annual Leave: 23 days per annum 

• The role will be a hybrid role combining home and office working. Our current hybrid policy is 2 days in the office.

• Our office is located at One Shelbourne Buildings, Shelbourne Road, Dublin 4, D04 NP20.

• This position is graded at the Executive Officer scale. 

• Successful candidates will be appointed on the first point of the scale.
