Research Assistant - AI for Speech Therapy, Dublin

Job Overview Applications are invited for a Research Assistant position within the UCC Futures Artificial Intelligence and Data Analytics and the School of Computer Science and Information Technology. The candidate will be employed on the EaseTalk project, working with a team of researchers on topics including medical applications, mobile app development, large language models, and solutions for therapists. The researcher will be located on University College Cork’s campus.

Project Project title:

EaseTalk– AI for Modern Speech Therapy

Duration:

11 months, full‑time post

Responsibilities

Design and develop mobile applications that integrate AI models, including large language models.

Collaborate with domain experts such as therapists and clinical partners to evaluate usability, reliability and alignment with regulatory requirements.

Contribute to technical development and evaluation of innovative digital health solutions.

Participate in multidisciplinary teams and collaborate with members of the group both inside and outside UCC.

Qualifications&Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline.

Good track record of mobile application development and integration.

Experience developing mobile applications in the medical domain and understanding of related regulatory environment and commercialization.

Experience working with multidisciplinary teams is an asset.

Funding&Resources A budget for travel, equipment, publications and other research expenses is available as part of the project.

Location University College Cork’s campus.
