Head of Data Protection and AI Compliance - Insurance, Dublin

Sanderson are partnering with a leading Insurance Company to recruit for a Head of Data Protection and AI Compliance, hybrid working in Dublin City Centre. The Head of Data Protection and AI Compliance will manage a team of four and report to the Chief Risk Officer. This is a senior leadership role with direct exposure to the Board and Executive team. You will own the data privacy and AI compliance agenda across the business. You will set standards. You will shape policy. You will provide clear oversight on risk. The role requires a balance of regulatory depth and commercial judgement. The remit is broad and the impact is significant. Key responsibilities Lead the data protection and AI compliance strategy across Ireland Set and maintain policies aligned to regulatory and group standards Support the Board and Executive with clear reporting and insight on risk Drive continuous improvement of the data protection and AI framework Lead and develop a high performing team Embed a strong culture of compliance and accountability Oversee incident response and data subject request processes Ensure compliant handling of sensitive data and AI related activity Work closely with risk, legal and business teams to manage issues and controls Deliver training and communication across the organisation Support project delivery through governance and sign off Manage budget and resources in line with objectives Minimum criteria required Ten plus years' experience in data protection, legal or a similar environment Current experience within insurance sector Qualified solicitor or equivalent experience in data protection Compliance Institute qualification or relevant data protection certification Professional Certificate in Insurance or equivalent desirable Strong experience in AI regulation and emerging frameworks Proven ability to advise senior management and Board level forums This is a CF1 controlled function role For more details contact Elaine Liston in Sanderson on or apple online for more information.
