Quantity Surveyor, Dublin

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW: We’re looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor—ideally with a background in electrical contracting—to join our engineering client’s dynamic technical team. The role is required to ensure commercial&contractual control and co‑ordination of the efforts of all parties involved in the execution of a specified project or range of projects and to provide guidance to other members of the Commercial/quantity surveying team and Project Directors/Managers on all aspects relating to commercial activity on a specified project orrange of projects.

YOUR NEW ROLE:

Work closely with the project team to develop Monthly progress applications.

Ensure all contract variations are captured from engineering deviations and site requests.

Prepare in‑house monthly commercial reports and take responsibility for all commercial aspects of the project.

Monitoring spent V’s earned values on a weekly basis.

Ensure maximum profitability on projects under his / her control by pro‑actively approaching your duties and exercising commercial acumen.

Prepare cash flows and update as necessary - analyse timing of sales and costs.

Ensure good working relationships with clients, by ensuring that client correspondence / documentation is prepared in a professional manner.

Carry out monthly measure on site and prepare in term valuation.

Monitor progress on site ensure that where applicable claims for recovery of loss and expense are submitted timeously and agreed with client.

Comply with company procedures in relation to commercial matters.

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR:

Degree in Quantity Surveying and/or Electrical trade background is also an advantage.

Minimum 5 years of experience in quantity survey functions.

Technical and practical knowledge of all phases of contract development, award, administration and close‑out relating to a multi‑discipline construction project.

Knowledgeable of current industry and technical developments.

Proven track record with recognized international standard contracting companies.

Good communication and strong English capability. High level of reporting skills.

Strong written communication abilities and the ability to negotiate a strong commercial position for the company are also essential.

Good presentation and general management skills.

Ability to work in a team or on your own initiative.

Must be capable of preparing "MTO’s" and compiling the Actual Construction Measure.

Capability to accept responsibilities and accomplish project objectives in a timely manner.

Computer literate especially with Microsoft Word and Excel.

Data Centre Experience.
