Are you ready to architect the data foundation that drives our dynamic, consumption-based business model? As a pivotal member of the Consumption Operations team, you will design, build, and maintain the mission‑critical data infrastructure that powers our global services. Success in this role means engineering robust, highly optimized data pipelines that guarantee the absolute quality and reliability of our data. Your work will directly impact the company's bottom line by ensuring 100% accurate, timelyusage billing, while also unlocking data‑driven insights that empower the entire organization.Responsibilities: Pipeline Engineering: Design, build, and optimize scalable ELT/ETL pipelines to ingest, process, and transform massive volumes of structured and unstructured data. Data Integration: Architect and maintain seamless integrations across diverse internal and external data sources, including databases, APIs, and business application software.Governance&Security: Champion data integrity and accuracy. Implement rigorous security measures and ensure strict adherence to financial data regulations, including SOX compliance. Infrastructure Management: Proactively monitor system performance, troubleshoot bottlenecks, and continuously optimise the data infrastructure for maximum scalability, speed and cost‑efficiency.Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with data scientists, business analysts and leadership to capture requirements and deliver high‑quality, reliable, and curated datasets. Stay ahead of industry trends and introduce cutting‑edge methodologies and tools.Qualifications: A bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics or a related field, or equivalent practical experience as a Data Engineer. 3+ years of hands‑on experience as a Data Engineer, with a proven, impactful track record in a data‑engineering or heavily related data‑architecture role.High proficiency in writing and optimising SQL and Python. Deep, hands‑on experience with modern cloud data platforms and tooling, specifically Snowflake, dbt, Fivetran, and SQL Server. Mission:

Build and maintain trusted data infrastructure across the organization. Focus on building reliable, well‑governed data foundations for compliance and regulatory reporting across Coinbase's international entities. Key Duties: Design and build data models that serve as the foundation for regulatory reporting, with the entity‑level granularity and definitions regulators require.Build and maintain data quality checks, monitoring, and data contracts; implement reconciliation against prior submissions. Write specs and definitions that AI tools use to generate pipelines and answer regulatory questions accurately. Standardise regulatory metric definitions, entity‑specific nuances, and historical reporting decisions into durable, machine‑readable formats.Partner with Compliance, Legal and Business Operations to translate regulatory requirements into data models, and with upstream Engineering to ensure accurate, well‑contracted source data. Shift progressively from handling regulatory data requests toward building automated, self‑serve solutions that reduce manual effort over time.Maintain clear, structured documentation of business logic optimized for AI agent consumption so agents can reliably trace and query regulatory data end‑to‑end. Required Experience: Advanced SQL, Python, data modelling (star/snowflake, OBTs, SCDs), pipeline development (dbt, Airflow), modern warehouse architecture (Snowflake, Databricks).Strong analytical skills and experience in regulatory reporting.
