On successful completion, apprentices will achieve a QQI Advanced Certificate – Level 6, a nationally recognised qualification valued across multiple industries.You don’t need previous experience - we provide training, mentoring and support from day one.What you’ll learn and doConstruction Plant Fitters support with the maintenance and reliability of mobile plant and equipment used across our mining operations. With guidance from experienced mentors, you’ll learn how these machines operate and why safety, quality and teamwork are critical in everything we do.During your apprenticeship, you’ll be supported to learn how to:Diagnose faults and carry out repairs on mobile plant and equipmentPerform routine servicing and preventative maintenance to keep equipment operating safely and efficientlyComplete inspections and safety checks in line with mining regulations and site standardsUse modern maintenance systems and technology, including the CMMS system (Maximo)Develop strong problem‑solving skills through proactive fault‑finding andrepair activitiesYour support and developmentBoliden Tara Mines offers world‑class technical training, along with competitive pay and excellent rewards as you progress and develop your skills.You will be part of a safety-focused, inclusive team, supported by experienced and qualified craftspeoplewho will:Coach and guide you throughout your apprenticeshipHelp you build confidence in your technical skillsEncourage questions and continuous learningWe take pride in creating an environment where apprentices feel supported, respected and safe to learn.Entry requirementsAged 18 years or overLeaving Certificate with a minimum of five passes at Ordinary Level, including English and MathsSkills and qualities we look forCuriosity and interest in how things workGood communication and teamwork skillsWillingness to learn and ask questionsA positive, proactive approachAn interest in technology, engineering or problem solvingPractical details39 hours per week, Monday to FridaySome flexibility required in line with operational needsA structured apprenticeship combining on-the-job learning with off-site trainingOpportunities within the wider Boliden GroupAn apprenticeship with Boliden Tara Minesoffers more than a qualification — it’s the start of a long‑term career.
