Operator, Louth

DS Smith is a leading provider of sustainable packaging solutions, paper products, and recycling services. We are currently looking for a motivated and safety-focused Machine Operator to join our team in Louth.

About the Role

As a Machine Operator, you will play a key role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and high-quality operation of production machinery within our fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

Take full accountability for your own and others’ health and safety, working strictly in line with Safe Systems of Work (SSOW) and company procedures

Proactively challenge and report any unsafe acts or hazards, ensuring all incidents are escalated immediately

Operate machinery effectively to maximise efficiency and minimise downtime

Meet productivity and performance targets while maintaining consistent quality standards

Carry out routine maintenance and cleaning activities in line with planned schedules

Support continuous improvement initiatives across the site

Candidate Profile (Desirable)

Experience operating high-speed production or packaging machinery

Strong commitment to Health & Safety best practice

Proactive approach to continuous improvement

Good understanding of quality standards and reporting procedures

Team player with strong communication skills

Self-motivated with a positive attitude

Basic understanding of paper and packaging processes

Good mechanical aptitude
