WellingtonShire Council is seeking a driven professional to lead the development anddelivery of strategic planning projects that inform how communityinfrastructure is planned, prioritised and delivered into the future.This is aunique opportunity to work at the intersection of strategy, policy and projectdelivery, influencing decisions that will shape communities across WellingtonShire. Key objectives of therole include:

Leadthe planning and delivery of community infrastructure strategic projects,ensuring alignment with Council Plan priorities, service needs andgovernance requirements. Manageend‑to‑end project activities, including scoping, feasibility, budgeting,scheduling and risk management. Procure,manage and coordinate external consultants, ensuring delivery aligns withproject objectives, timeframes and budgets.Developand contribute to new and updated strategy, policy and planning documentsrelated to community infrastructure. Buildand maintain effective working relationships with internal stakeholders,Councillors, government agencies, consultants and community groups acrossWellington Shire. Planand undertake community and stakeholder engagement activities, includingpreparation of reports, briefings and executive‑level updates.Providehigh‑level advice and recommendations that reflect an understanding of thepolitical, organisational and legislative context of local governmentdecision‑making. The successfulcandidate will need to demonstrate:

Experiencein infrastructure planning, strategic projects, project management or asimilar role within a complex organisational environment. Well‑developedproject management skills, including the ability to manage multiplepriorities, tight deadlines and competing demands. Experienceprocuring and managing consultants and coordinating multidisciplinarystakeholders.Capabilityin developing strategy, policy, project documentation and reports forsenior leadership and Council. Strongcommunication and stakeholder engagement skills, including experienceworking with communities and elected representatives. Soundunderstanding of the political and governance environment within localgovernment or a comparable public sector setting.Highlevel of proficiency in office tools, reporting and collaborative workpractices. Abilityto work independently with minimal supervision while contributingeffectively as part of a team.
