Join a well‑established Irish owned construction organisation, with a heritage project in County Clare where health, safety, and compliance are central to everyday operations. This is a key permanent position for a capable Health&Safety professional who wants to take ownership of site standards, influence safe working practices, and support a strong safety culture across the business.

About the Role Reporting to the Health&Safety Manager, you will be responsible for implementing and maintaining effective health and safety systems across the site. You will work closely with operational teams, contractors, and stakeholders to identify risks, drive corrective actions, and ensure full compliance with Irish health and safety legislation. Your work will directly reduce incidents, improve safety performance, and support continuous improvement in EHS standards.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and hazard identification across all site activities and work areas.

Plan and carry out regular safety audits, inspections, and site walks, ensuring timely follow‑up on findings and corrective actions.

Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, identifying root causes and recommending preventative measures.

Deliver safety inductions, toolbox talks, and targeted health and safety training to employees and contractors.

Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date safety documentation, records, and reports for internal use and regulatory compliance.

Monitor contractor activities on site, ensuring adherence to company safety procedures and statutory requirements.

Support the development and implementation of site‑specific safety procedures, safe systems of work, and emergency response plans.

Prepare and present regular health and safety performance reports and updates to the Health&Safety Manager and relevant stakeholders.

Key Requirements

Proven experience in a Health&Safety Officer or similar role within an industrial, construction, manufacturing, or related environment.

Strong practical experience in risk assessment and hazard identification in a busy operational setting.

In‑depth knowledge of current Irish health and safety legislation, codes of practice, and regulatory requirements.

Demonstrated experience in incident and accident investigation, including root cause analysis and corrective action planning.

Confident in delivering safety training, inductions, and toolbox talks to diverse groups.

Track record of conducting safety audits and inspections and driving follow‑through on actions.

Excellent report writing, documentation, and record‑keeping skills with strong attention to detail.

Effective stakeholder and contractor management skills, with the ability to challenge and influence on safety matters.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
