Are you the Senior Managing Consultant we are looking for? You will join our Impact Assessment Global Service Line You will be part of our UK&Ireland Impact Assessment Service Line, which forms part of our wider Global Impact Assessment Service Line, established to drive our ongoing growth in this area and foster global collaboration. The Service Line builds on our success through a continued focus on national impact assessment work in both the UK and Ireland, alongside targeting large, strategic projects within our existing global geographic strongholds and beyond.
We are seeking a Senior Managing Consultant to join the leadership team with clear strengths in business and team development. Working collaboratively with our existing team in Ireland and backed by our team of 120 impact assessment professionals in the UK you will take day-to-day responsibility for the growth and development of our Impact Assessment team in Ireland. The role will combine business development, establishing the team and the management and delivery of environmental inputs across a range of projects, from‘pure play’ environmental work to supporting our Energy, Transport, Buildings and Marine teams. You will be supported by our growing inhouse technical specialist groups in air quality, noise&vibration, ecology, arboriculture, landscape&urban design, water resources and flood risk, ground contamination, waste, socio-economics, climate&human health.
We're looking for individuals who are passionate about delivering effective environmental and sustainability inputs and positively influencing the delivery of a wide range of projects. You will contribute to setting the strategic direction for our Impact Assessment services in Ireland, as well as effectively managing the team, resources and budgets.
Your key tasks and responsibilities will be:
Leading, collaborating and supporting on the identification of EIA and environmental business opportunities in Ireland, including delivering associated proposals and developing and maintaining trusted advisor relationships;
Leading the development of the Impact Assessment team in Ireland, including business planning, recruitment and training;
Providing both strategic and project specific EIA and environmental advice to clients and specialists;
Directing, managing and delivering EIAs and environmental input, including technical sign-off of technical assessment and budget management; and
Mentoring and line managing team members.

Appropriate degree in environmental sciences, environmental engineering or a related discipline;
Master’s degree in a related discipline (advantageous but not essential);
A strong track record in, and experience of, EIA consultancy, with a passion for developing sustainable solutions;
Demonstrable track record in business development and team/commercial management;
A thorough understanding of the policy and regulatory framework for EIA in Ireland;
Ability to confidently engage with a range of stakeholder groups;
Ability to collaborate on and lead projects with a range of environmental, design and engineering specialists;
Experience of successfully managing a team, with good people management skills;
Good project management and organisational skills; and
Personal qualities that will help you to succeed in the role include excellent communication skills (oral and written), strong leadership and collaboration skills, trusted advisor skills and a successful track record in business development and team/commercial management.
Ramboll operates a flexible working policy including hybrid home working arrangements., however, it is anticipated that this role would involve regular presence in the office to lead and develop the team.
