Trainee Accountant, Galway

Our client is seeking a Trainee Accountant to join their medium sized practice in Galway. This is a full‑time training contract designed for a graduate with a 2.1 or higher in a Level 8 degree who is looking to pursue the ACA/ACCA qualification. The successful Trainee Accountant will gain exposure across audit, bookkeeping, tax, and general accounts preparation.

Responsibilities

Assist in audits of small companies

Support with general bookkeeping duties

Prepare tax returns in line with compliance deadlines

Help with the preparation of annual accounts for a range of clients

Provide general accounting and administrative support as required

Attend training sessions and learn directly from FAE students and senior staff

Requirements

Graduate or soon to graduate from a Level 8 degree (minimum 2.1) in Accounting, Finance, or related field

Intention to pursue ACA, ACCA or CTA qualification (training contract provided)

Strong communication and organisational skills

A willingness to learn, take initiative, and work well as part of a team
