As the business continues to expand, we’re looking for an experienced Production Manager to oversee our manufacturing and assembly teams. This is a hands‑on leadership position where you’ll be responsible for the entire production process, ensuring every project meets strict standards for quality, safety, and performance.

The Production Manager Role As Production Manager, you will take full responsibility for the end-to-end manufacturing process from initial project intake through fabrication, assembly, integration and final completion.
This is a highly visible, hands‑on leadership role where you’ll plan, direct and coordinate activities across multiple departments including fabrication, electrical, finishing and final assembly.
You will lead teams, manage schedules, ensure compliance with relevant standards, and drive continuous improvement across the production function.
Key Responsibilities Production Planning&Scheduling
Develop and manage detailed production schedules for custom projects
Coordinate all stages of the build process from preparation through to final testing
Balance workloads across departments to ensure efficient throughput
Lead and manage technicians, fabricators, electricians and assembly staff
Set clear daily and weekly targets and monitor performance
Drive accountability, training and team development
Quality Assurance&Compliance
Ensure all outputs meet required standards and specifications
Implement inspection checkpoints throughout production
Sign off on final quality prior to delivery
Materials&Supply Chain Coordination
Work closely with design and purchasing teams to ensure material availability
Coordinate supply of key components and fabricated parts
Proactively manage procurement to avoid delays
Process Improvement (Lean Focus)
Identify inefficiencies and improve production workflows
Implement Lean principles including standardisation and visual management
Reduce rework, delays and waste
Health&Safety Management
Maintain safe working practices across all production areas
Ensure compliance with workplace safety regulations
Conduct risk assessments and toolbox talks
Budget&Cost Control
Monitor material usage and minimise waste
Contribute to improving margins through operational efficiency
Participate in project reviews, planning and quality assessments
Customer&Project Coordination
Liaise with engineering, design, sales and project teams
Support management of custom specifications and change requests
Occasionally engage directly with clients
About You You are a strong, hands‑on leader with a background in manufacturing or engineering environments, ideally within fabrication or complex assembly operations.
You’re comfortable managing low‑volume, high‑custom production projects and thrive when balancing people, process, and performance.
You lead from the front, communicate clearly, and take pride in delivering high‑quality outcomes through well‑organised teams and efficient systems.
Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering, Product Design or related discipline
5+ years’ experience in a similar production or manufacturing leadership role
Proven experience managing technical teams in a production environment
Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems
Ability to interpret technical drawings (CAD‑based systems)
Excellent problem‑solving, organisational and communication skills
Experience in fabrication or heavy manufacturing environments
Knowledge of sheet metal and structural fabrication
Experience with Lean manufacturing principles
Familiarity with ERP systems and BOM management
Experience in low‑volume, high‑custom manufacturing environments
