Bluedrop Medical are a Galway based medical device company, delivering remote patient monitoring to patients at risk of developing diabetic foot ulcers. We are entering a high-growth phase, with rapid scaling in revenue and growth of our team in both Ireland and the US. Financial Controller
to join our team to support us on this journey. The successful candidate will report directly to the senior leadership team and be responsible for the day-to-day financial operations of the company. This is a hands-on and varied role, with a requirement to both carry out day-to-day financial activities and establish processes to allow us to scale. This is an opportunity to shape how a high-growth international company scales - ensuring we have the systems, processes, and culture in place for sustainable success.Key Responsibilities
Oversee and manage the financial operations of the group (2 entities), ensuring accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of reporting Act as the primary point of contact for outsourced finance contractors, providing direction, review, and quality control Establish and continuously improve best-practice financial processes, controls, and policiesOwn the month-end and year-end close processes, including review of management accounts Ensure compliance with statutory, tax, and regulatory requirements across all entities Lead budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management processes Partner with senior leadership to provide financial insight and support strategic decision-makingPrepare board-level reporting packs and KPI dashboards Support audits and liaise with external auditors, advisors, and regulators Drive systems and process improvements as the business scales Key Requirements
Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent) Proven experience in a Financial Controller or senior finance role within a scaling or high-growth environment Experience managing or working with outsourced finance functions or shared service providers Strong understanding of financial controls, governance, and best practice process designExperience in life sciences, biotech, medtech, or a regulated environment is advantageous Ability to operate both strategically and hands-on in a lean team structure High technical literacy and a track record of identifying and deploying software or technology based solutions to drive efficiency and scalabilityStrong stakeholder management and communication skills Key Attributes
Proactive and self-sufficient, comfortable operating with limited internal finance infrastructure Process-driven with a continuous improvement mindset Commercially aware with the ability to translate financial data into business insights Adaptable and comfortable in a fast-evolving, scaling environmentProven experience building or optimising operations systems in a fast-growing business.
