Description
The Connacht Hospitality Group are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to take ownership of the finance function for our busiest business. This is a key role within the Group, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting while maintaining strong, effective controls in a fast-paced environment.
KEY DELIVERABLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Production of monthly management accounts and balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring delivery to strict deadlines
Act as a key financial partner to General Managers, supporting effective financial management and the achievement of Group targets
Contribute to overall business performance through value-added insights beyond the core accounting function
Lead the annual budgeting process in line with Group targets and strategic objectives
Prepare and maintain weekly cashflow forecasts to support operational planning
Oversee accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and timeliness
Manage creditor reconciliations and ensure the effective administration of the purchasing system
Monitor and strengthen internal controls across the businesses, identifying risks and implementing improvements where required
Prepare and deliver financial reports to support management decision-making and performance analysis
Attend and actively contribute to weekly finance team meetings
Analyse costs and identify opportunities for efficiencies and savings
Support the annual audit process, liaising with external auditors as required
Ensure full compliance with Revenue requirements and statutory obligations
Manage ad hoc financial queries and projects as they arise
CORE COMPETENCIES
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams
High level of attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
Strong organisational and time management skills, with a proven ability to meet tight deadlines
Strong Microsoft Office skills, with advanced Excel capability
Professional Requirements&Experience
Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
Minimum of 3 years’ post-qualification experience within a busy commercial finance function or practice
Demonstrated experience operating in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
Previous experience within the hospitality sector is a strong advantage
