Financial Controller, Galway

As part of this growth journey, there is now an opportunity to appoint an experienced Financial Controller to play a key role in shaping the finance function and supporting strategic expansion.

The Role

Reporting directly to the senior leadership team, the Financial Controller will take full ownership of the day-to-day financial operations across multiple entities, while also driving the development of scalable processes and systems.

This is a hands‑on, high‑impact position suited to someone who thrives in a growing environment, combining strong technical accounting expertise with the ability to contribute at a strategic level.

Key responsibilities will include

Managing month‑end and year‑end close processes, overseeing outsourced finance providers, and ensuring robust financial controls and compliance frameworks are in place.

Leading budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management, while partnering closely with senior stakeholders to provide meaningful financial insights and support decision‑making.

Preparation of board‑level reporting, KPI analysis, and supporting key commercial initiatives.

There will also be a strong focus on driving process and systems improvements to enable efficient scaling of the business.

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with proven experience operating at Financial Controller or senior finance level within a scaling or high‑growth environment.

They will bring a strong understanding of financial controls, governance, and process design, along with experience managing or working alongside outsourced finance functions or shared service providers.

A background in a regulated or complex industry environment would be advantageous.

Crucially, the individual will be comfortable operating in a lean structure, balancing hands‑on delivery with strategic input. They will demonstrate strong technical capability, high levels of commercial awareness, and a track record of leveraging systems and technology to drive efficiency and scalability.

Strong stakeholder management skills are essential, along with the ability to communicate financial information clearly to non‑finance audiences. The successful candidate will be proactive, adaptable, and process‑driven, with a continuous improvement mindset and the ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, evolving business.
