Maintenance Operative, Galway

N6 Operations Ltd. Operate and Maintain 55km of the M6 Motorway and Dual Carriageway between Ballinasloe and Coolagh on the East of Galway City. We are currently recruiting for a Maintenance Operative at our Loughrea Depot. Job Description: The role involves 24/7 on-call cover on a rostered basis, working outdoors in adverse weather, working at night as required, working out of hours callouts when rostered. The day-to-day motorway maintenance activities including: General maintenance duties Inspections and patrols of the network Winter maintenance Incident response Traffic management Litter picking Grass cutting Landscaping Weed control Cleaning road furniture Fencing, barrier, signage, concrete and pavement repairs Record keeping Undertake maintenance tasks as directed by the Supervisor Qualification: Second level education Full clean Class C drivers licence Valid Safepass Driver CPC Experience: Relevant truck driving experience Relevant experience with a background in construction or maintenance Knowledge of health and safety practices and principles Skills: Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team Willingness to learn new skills Good interpersonal skills Self-motivated and enthusiastic Preferred candidate will live within 60 minutes of the Depot to achieve incident response times. Normal working hours 7:30 to 16:30 Monday to Friday.TPBN1_IJ
