Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Building Services Engineer with at least 5 years of experience in the design, coordination, and delivery of building services systems. The successful candidate will lead the design and execution of mechanical, electrical, and public health (MEP) systems across a range of commercial, residential, healthcare, or industrial projects.
This role requires strong technical expertise, project management capabilities, and the ability to coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality, compliant, and energy-efficient building solutions.
Technical Design&Engineering
Lead the design and development of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
Prepare detailed calculations, specifications, drawings, and technical reports.
Ensure compliance with Irish codes, standards, and sustainability requirements.
Review and approve technical submittals and shop drawings.
Conduct site inspections and resolve technical issues during construction.
Project Management
Manage multiple projects simultaneously from concept to completion.
Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, contractors, and clients.
Monitor project timelines, budgets, and deliverables.
Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and technicians.
Carry out inspections to ensure BCAR Compliance.
Compliance&Quality Assurance
Ensure designs meet statutory and regulatory requirements.
Perform risk assessments and value engineering exercises.
Maintain documentation in line with company QA procedures.
Support commissioning and handover processes.
Client&Stakeholder Engagement
Attend client meetings and provide technical presentations.
Respond to RFIs and provide engineering solutions.
Assist in preparing fee proposals and tender documentation.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering.
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in building services/MEP engineering.
Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical distribution, and plumbing systems.
Proficiency in design software such as:
AutoCAD / Revit (BIM)
HAP / IES / Dialux or similar tools
Good understanding of energy efficiency and sustainability practices.
Knowledge of local building regulations and international standards.
Preferred Qualifications
Professional certification or working toward chartered status.
Experience in BIM coordination.
Project management experience.
LEED or other sustainability accreditation (advantage).
