Director of Nursing, Kilkenny

We're currently partnering with a well-established private nursing home group in Kilkenny City to recruit a Director of Nursing (DON) for a full-time, permanent leadership role. This is a key senior position for an experienced nurse leader who wants to shape clinical standards, drive quality care, and lead a strong multidisciplinary team in a supportive, resident-focused environment. Key Responsibilities Overall leadership and management of nursing and care teams Ensuring full compliance with HIQA standards and regulatory requirements Clinical governance, audits, policies, and quality improvement initiatives Staff supervision, mentoring, and performance management Resident care planning and safeguarding oversight Liaising with families, GPs, allied health professionals, and inspectors Budget awareness and operational input alongside management team Requirements Registered Nurse (RNID, RGN or equivalent) with NMBI registration Minimum 3 years experience in a management role within the last 6 years. Strong knowledge of HIQA standards and elderly care regulations Proven leadership, communication, and organisational skills Experience in dementia/geriatric care is highly desirable Postgraduate qualification in management or healthcare leadership.
