Description
We are currently recruiting Staff Grade and Senior Dietitians to join a Children’s Disability Network Team (CDNT) in Letterkenny. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a multidisciplinary team supporting children and young people (0–18 years) with complex needs.
The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering family‑centred nutrition and dietetic services to children with a range of developmental, physical, and medical conditions.
Key Responsibilities of the Dietitian
Provide comprehensive dietetic assessment and intervention for children with complex needs
Develop and implement individualised nutrition care plans
Support children with feeding difficulties, growth concerns, and specialised dietary requirements
Work closely with families, caregivers, schools, and other services
Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team including SLT, OT, Physiotherapy, Psychology, and Social Work
Deliver education and training to families and staff
Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date clinical documentation
Senior Role Responsibilities (in addition to above)
Manage a complex caseload and provide clinical leadership
Support and supervise junior staff and students
Contribute to service development, audit, and quality improvement initiatives
Provide specialist input into complex feeding and nutrition cases
Requirements for the Dietitian
Degree in Dietetics or Human Nutrition&Dietetics
CORU registration (or eligibility)
For Staff Grade: relevant clinical or placement experience in paediatrics or disability services desirable
For Senior Grade: minimum of 3 years post‑qualification experience
Strong communication, organisational, and teamwork skills
Desirable
Experience working with children with disabilities or complex needs
Experience in enteral feeding, feeding difficulties, or paediatric nutrition
Knowledge of family‑centred practice
