Description
Provide high quality and insightful Industrial Relations, HR and Advocacy services to our members. The Employer Relations Executive also has responsibility for building effective working relationships with key member contacts, relevant agencies and Ibec colleagues.
The successful person will be a seasoned practitioner who can work independently when needed and be an effective member of a small regional team while also developing strong engagement and relationships with the broader ER team.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Provide direct advisory and advocacy services to members, seeking always to add value to the business
Provide specialist industrial relations and human resource support to members
Represent member companies before third party employment bodies
Represent member companies in union/company negotiations
Maintain a strong business partnership relationship with members ensuring an excellent member experience
Develop written contributions for Ibec publications as required
Provide input to Ibec training courses in the area of Industrial Relations/Human Resource
Deliver training in the area of Industrial Relations/Human Resource
Represent the interests of employers on external committees
Be an active participant on various Ibec project teams as required
Keep abreast of employment law, industrial relations and human resource developments
Promote and support membership development initiatives

ABOUT YOU Qualifications, skills and experience Qualifications
Primary degree required. Human Resource/Industrial Relations/Employment Law related qualification preferable
Full clean driving licence is essential
Knowledge
Comprehensive knowledge of Employment Law and its application in unionised and non-unionised workplaces
Industrial Relations and Human Resource Developments in Ireland and globally
Understanding of the role of the third-party industrial relations and employment institutions in Ireland
Competitive, regulatory and cost issues facing business in Ireland
Insight into the business environment in the mid-west/west of Ireland an advantage
Experience
Industrial Relations/Human Resource experience and/or people management experience
Experience in representing companies at 3rd party industrial relations institutions an advantage
Interfacing regularly with Senior Company Executives up to CEO level
Working in a representative/consultancy capacity for business
Working in a team environment
Strong interpersonal skills
Negotiating and influencing skills
Presentation and public speaking skills
Ability to communicate succinctly and utilise a range of communication methods
Excellent organisational and administrative skills
Able to work in team environment
Personal Qualities
Presents a professional and friendly demeanour
Calm under pressure
Able to manage time in line with changing priorities.
Able to listen and respond in a professional and competent manner.
Able and willing to travel as needed
