Mixed Signal Design Engineer

About the Role
As a Mixed Signal Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing mixed-signal integrated circuits, including ADCs, DACs, PLLs, and power management blocks. You'll work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to deliver robust mixed-signal solutions while growing your technical expertise. This role requires a good foundation in both analog and digital domains, with the ability to integrate these technologies to create high-performance semiconductor solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Circuit Design & Development: Design and develop mixed-signal ICs including power management ICs, ADCs, DACs, and PLLs while working under moderate guidanceVerification & Testing: Perform schematic design, verification, and lab characterization of ICs to ensure they meet required specificationsSimulation & Analysis: Conduct simulations for performance requirements, noise analysis, timing requirements, and power optimizationIntegration: Integrate analog and digital IP to ensure robust performance across various operating conditionsTest Planning: Develop and execute test plans for block-level and system-level verificationDocumentation: Create and maintain detailed technical documentation for designs, specifications, and test resultsCross-functional Collaboration: Work with teams across disciplines to implement designs and support silicon validation efforts


Must Have Skills

Mixed-signal IC Design: Apply fundamental principles and techniques to design mixed-signal circuits with guidance from senior engineersCMOS Technology: Utilize understanding of CMOS processes and device characteristics in circuit implementationADC/DAC Design: Apply knowledge of converter architectures and principles in developing data converter blocksSimulation & Modeling: Conduct circuit simulations using tools like SPICE, MATLAB, and Cadence Design Suite to verify performanceEDA Tool Proficiency: Use industry-standard design automation tools (Cadence, Synopsys) for schematic creation and verificationLab Testing: Perform laboratory characterization and testing of circuit blocks and IC’s using appropriate test equipmentProblem Solving: Provide resolutions to moderately complex mixed-signal design problems using judgment within defined practicesTeamwork: Effectively participate in team efforts and begin providing technical guidance to junior membersCommunication: Clearly document designs and communicate technical concepts to cross-functional stakeholders


Preferred Education and Experience

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field2+ years of relevant mixed-signal design experience
