Overview As a Senior Tax Accountant in Limerick, Ireland, you will join a diverse, passionate team dedicated to powering the world’s payments ecosystem.
We’re looking for a Senior Tax Accountant to join our EMEA tax team at an exciting time of transformation. This is a hands‑on role with real ownership — combining technical tax work, cross‑border exposure, and the chance to shape how tax is done using automation and data.
You’ll work closely with finance, systems, and global tax colleagues to deliver accurate compliance and reporting, while also helping modernise our tax processes.
The successful candidate will support the finance&tax department to ensure the ACI group meets its financial, tax compliance and reporting obligations. This role requires a good knowledge of accounting principles, with exposure to tax accounting as an advantage.
Typical day
Lead tax process improvements by developing system automations to streamline processes
Prepare the US GAAP quarterly tax provision for European entities and prepare supporting schedules for US reporting purposes
Support international tax matters including transfer pricing, and Pillar Two
Identify and execute withholding tax planning opportunities to minimise cash tax leakage and reduce effective tax costs
Coordinate and direct outsource providers to complete the tax returns for European subsidiaries
Lead the preparation of documentation for Irish Research&Development Claims
Lead VAT, Intrastat, VIES and other tax-related filings
Perform other duties as assigned
Understand and adhere to all corporate policies to include but not limited to ACI code of ethics and global information security
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Degree in Accounting, Business, Finance or equivalent
Full or part accounting/tax qualification with a desire to complete same
3+ years experience in an accounting or tax environment
Proactive, self‑motivated approach with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
Highly Desired Skills:
ERP Systems (e.g. Oracle Fusion)
Tax systems (e.g. Alphatax, Onesource tax provision)
Demonstrated curiosity and openness to leveraging AI tools, automation, or emerging technologies to improve how tax work gets done
