Job Summary Fixed‑term contract up until 31/01/2027 for a secondment opportunity. An exciting role for an enthusiastic Speech and Language Therapist seeking to develop and consolidate skills in adult acquired disorders of communication and swallowing.

You will join a friendly and dynamic team of 10 Speech and Language Therapists at Raigmore Hospital, Inverness, serving the North Highland Area. The team covers the full range of adult acquired specialisms and provides comprehensive services to the people of the Highlands.

Responsibilities

Provide communication rehabilitation to inpatients in the Stroke Unit and the Neuro Rehabilitation Unit.

Conduct outpatient sessions covering neurological, voice, head and neck surgery, and fluency cases.

Assist with all specialist services, including a Videofluoroscopy service, a Joint Voice and Swallowing Clinic, AAC resources and Specialist SVR support for Laryngectomy patients.

Participate in in‑house Dysphagia Training and support the SLT Team’s commitment to professional development, supervision and quality improvement.

Qualifications

BSc (or equivalent) in Speech Pathology and Therapeutics.

Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council and evidence of a special interest in Adult Acquired Disorders.

Preferred registration with the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT).

Ability to hold a driving licence.

Contract Details

Effective 1st April 2026, the Agenda for Change full‑time working week will be reduced from 37 to 36 hours. Part‑time hours will be adjusted pro‑rata.

Hourly rate will increase to ensure pay remains unaffected.
