Wtech Fire&Security Technology Ltd is the Irish Detection&Security platform within Wtech Fire Group, a€200m+ European fire protection and detection group. The business currently operates across five trading companies with further acquisitions planned delivering advanced detection, alarm, AOV, emergency lighting, access control, leak detection and life safety systems to industrial, pharma, data centre, ATEX, commercial, hotel, domestic and healthcare clients.
While Wtech Fire Group sits at€200m+, this platform is currently at €25m and growing. We are looking for the Leader to drive it to the next level — €30m and above — and embed the Wtech operating standard across every business.

The Role The GM leads the strategic and operational direction of the companies as a single platform— accountable for commercial performance, margin discipline, and the embedding of Wtech's internal platform (FrameWorks) as the operating spine of every business.
The Person This is not a role for someone who manages from a spreadsheet. The Managing Directors leading these companies are experienced and capable— operators who have built real businesses. The GM earns their followership rather than asserting it. The bar is high in both directions: sharper on commercial judgement, more disciplined on process, and more trusted on people than anyone else in the room.
We are looking for someone who:
Reads situations fast.
Absorbs commercial, technical and financial detail across five businesses quickly. Sees patterns others miss. Brings clarity to pricing, contract structure, capital allocation and acquisition opportunity. Asks better questions than they are asked.
Reads people as well as numbers.
Builds genuine trust with experienced MDs. Listens before deciding. Disagrees without diminishing. Holds people to account in a way that strengthens, not erodes, the relationship.
Is driven by getting better.
Enjoys the craft of leading. Sets a higher bar for themselves than for anyone else. Restless with the status quo. Honest, in both directions, about what is not working.
Runs the business on the numbers.
Operates from a small set of clear measures, reviewed weekly. Comfortable being measured the same way.
Champions FrameWorks (Internal System).
FrameWorks is the operating spine of Wtech— every tender, PO, timesheet, job, variation and margin lives in one system. The GM does not tolerate workarounds, side‑spreadsheets or "we have always done it this way." They drive every business onto the Internal System and run the platform from the data it produces.
Loves process.
Builds it, simplifies it, enforces it. Understands that good process protects good people from bad days.
Performance Measures
Sustained revenue growth across the platform
Margin discipline and improvement against group benchmarks
Full FrameWorks adoption across all five trading companies
Standardised SOPs and service delivery across the platform
Measurable shift toward recurring revenue (service, maintenance, monitoring)
A strengthened, stable and high‑performing senior leadership team
Responsibilities
Lead the five Managing Directors as one Detection&Security senior team
Own the multi‑company P&L, forecasting and capital allocation
Drive FrameWorks adoption and discipline across every business
Standardise SOPs, pricing discipline and service delivery
Lead the sales strategy, with particular focus on recurring revenue
Build major client, supplier and stakeholder relationships at the level the platform demands
Ensure compliance with all safety, security and AHJ regulation across every site
Champion HSEQ culture and the Wtech standard in every workplace
Identify, evaluate and integrate acquisitions in the detection and security space
Essential Criteria
Minimum 5 years in fire detection, life safety or security
Minimum 5 years leading a multi‑site or group structure at GM or equivalent level
Demonstrable P&L ownership at scale
Strong technical knowledge of detection and security systems, regulation and standards
Track record of building, mentoring and holding to account a senior leadership team
M&A integration and B2B major‑account management experience
Excellent communicator— written, in front of a client, and in front of a workforce
Desirable
Degree in business, engineering or related discipline
Lean / operational excellence background
Experience driving a digital operating platform across multiple businesses
