Description
Programme Assistant Driver We would like to invite applications for the following 30 hours, Specified Purpose Contract (Mat Leave).
Responsibilities
Lead on the implementation of programme activities within the Community Centre, including daily programmes based on the service user’s choice and report writing on programme designs.
Act as a liaison with Community Centre staff and members, and link with relevant voluntary and statutory agencies, families and friends of members.
Support the Service Coordinator in creating and implementing fundraising initiatives.
Perform administrative duties.
Encourage members to be actively involved in developmental, personal and activation programmes that operate from the Centre.
Accompany and support participants on annual holidays, outings, socials and day trips as required.
Assist with patient moving and handling and provide personal care where required.
Ensure compliance with health and safety standards, including IWA's Parent and Ancillary Safety Statements and relevant legislation.
Adhere to safeguarding policies and procedures, protecting children and adults from abuse or harm.
Operate clamping, hoisting and lifting equipment safely.
Record and report any hazards, accidents or potential incidents to the Service Coordinator/Service Support Officer.
Transport participants to and from the Centre and related community activities daily.
Maintain vehicle roadworthiness, cleanliness and arrange necessary maintenance and repairs in consultation with the Service Coordinator/Service Support Officer.
Mentor staff and volunteers in programme activities and transport safety.
Maintain the buses.
Provide flexibility and availability for out‑of‑hours service activities, including evenings and weekends.
Carry out any other duties or responsibilities assigned from time to time.
Qualifications
Full QQI level 5 in HealthCare Support or a similar qualification (essential).
Relevance to IWA of QQI Major Awards such as:
Community&Health Services (including Safety&Health at Work and Care Provision&Practice).
Health Service Skills (including Workplace Statutory Policies&Procedures and Care Skills&Care Support).
Health Care Support (including Safety&Health at Work and Care Skills&Care Support).
Full driving licence and willingness to learn to drive IWA buses (essential).
Previous experience working with databases and Microsoft Office suite (desirable).
Knowledge&Skills
Developing and delivering projects or programmes.
Experience working with people with disabilities (required).
Knowledge of Safety, Health and Welfare regulations, transport safety and standards of use.

Salary from€25,354.78 up to €28,224.16 DOE.
