Project Manager– Construction (Kildare Region) We are recruiting on behalf of a leading Irish construction contractor for an experienced
Project Manager
to oversee delivery of major multi‑million‑euro building projects in the Kildare region.
This senior role requires full ownership from early stages to completion and handover, managing programme, site teams, subcontractors, design coordination, safety and quality to a high standard.
Role Overview You will be responsible for the full lifecycle delivery of construction projects, ensuring they are completed safely, on time, within budget and to the required quality standards. You will lead the site team, coordinate all stakeholders and drive performance across all aspects of construction delivery.
Key Responsibilities Project Delivery&Management
Take full responsibility for project delivery from pre‑start to handover
Develop, manage and maintain the project programme using planning software (e.g., MS Project)
Monitor progress weekly and update schedules for reporting purposes
Identify programme risks early and implement mitigation strategies
Report potential delays to senior management in advance
Coordination&Design Management
Oversee design coordination and support resolution of technical/design issues
Work closely with Design Managers to ensure alignment with programme requirements
Manage technical submittals, approvals and related documentation
Ensure BIM processes are effectively implemented where required
Procurement&Commercial Interface
Assist in preparation of procurement schedules in line with programme targets
Coordinate with commercial/QS teams on subcontractor and materials procurement
Support tender preparation and construction methodology input when required
Site Leadership&Communication
Lead and manage the project team, promoting clear communication and strong performance
Chair weekly site meetings and ensure accurate minutes and actions are recorded
Run weekly QA and coordination meetings with subcontractors and site team
Build strong working relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors and suppliers
Mentor and support junior team members and site staff
Health&Safety Responsibilities
Ensure full compliance with all health&safety legislation and company systems
Implement site inductions, RAMS, permits, toolbox talks and safety procedures
Maintain and regularly review Construction Phase Plans and risk assessments
Lead incident investigations and ensure corrective actions are implemented
Promote a strong safety culture and lead by example on site
Coordinate fire, emergency, traffic management and lifting plans
Ensure subcontractor compliance with all safety requirements
Quality Assurance
Implement and maintain the project QA system across all site activities
Conduct and coordinate inspections and test plans
Ensure high standards of workmanship across all trades
Address quality issues with subcontractors promptly and effectively
Oversee sample approvals and early‑stage mock‑ups (sample rooms/apartments where applicable)
Ensure site presentation reflects high‑quality standards at all times
Maintain detailed QA records and documentation
Reporting&Administration
Prepare monthly reports covering programme, safety, quality, progress and financial updates (with QS input)
Maintain detailed site records, reports and photographic documentation
Ensure all contractual reporting obligations are met
Support accurate communication of project status to stakeholders
Skills&Experience Required
Proven experience as a
Project Manager
or Senior Site Manager on large‑scale construction projects
Strong understanding of programme management and construction sequencing
Experience managing subcontractors across multiple work packages
Proficient in MS Office and planning tools (MS Project or similar)
Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment
Strong problem‑solving ability and attention to detail
Confident in delegating and managing site teams effectively
