Role Overview Kearys Motor Group is looking for top calibre candidates to join its winning team. We are currently seeking to recruit a IT Support Engineer to join our dynamic, growing team based in BMW Little Island, Cork.

Role Responsibilities

Provide remote, telephone, and on‑site IT support to end‑users across all Kearys Motor Group locations, with a primary on‑site focus at our Little Island and Midleton Dealerships.

Act as an escalation point from first‑line support, resolving intermediate‑level issues across hardware, software, and network systems.

Administer Microsoft 365, Active Directory, and Entra ID, including user account management, group policy, MFA, and licence administration.

Deploy, image, and configure laptops, desktops, tablets, mobile devices, and peripherals.

Support brand‑specific dealership systems used by BMW, Renault, Hyundai, and Carstore, working closely with vendor and OEM IT contacts.

Provide IT support for workshop environments including diagnostic equipment, workshop PCs, and connected devices.

Monitor backup jobs, perform restores, and escalate where required.

Carry out network troubleshooting on switches, access points, VPNs, and firewalls; liaise with our MSPs for advanced issues.

Maintain and support print infrastructure (MFDs, drivers, queues).

Apply patches, updates, and security configurations in line with Group IT policies.

Maintain accurate hardware/software asset records and contribute to technical documentation and knowledge base articles.

Support IT projects including site rollouts, hardware refreshes, and infrastructure upgrades.

Promote IT security best practices and adherence to Group IT policies among end‑users.

Travel to other Kearys sites as occasionally required to support major projects, rollouts, or cover for colleagues.

Provide cover for team members during periods of leave or peak workload.

What We’re Looking For Essential

Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in an IT support role (1st or 2nd line).

Strong working knowledge of:

Microsoft 365 administration (Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive)

Active Directory / Entra ID (user, group, and policy management)

Windows 11 deployment, imaging, and troubleshooting

Common business hardware (laptops, desktops, mobile devices, printers/MFDs)

Solid understanding of TCP/IP networking fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs, Wi‑Fi).

Experience with helpdesk/ticketing systems and SLA‑driven support.

Strong customer service and telephone support skills, with the ability to communicate clearly with non‑technical users.

Self‑motivated, organised, and capable of managing competing priorities across multiple sites and remote users.

A full, clean Irish driving licence and access to own transport.

Desirable

Experience supporting users in a multi‑site or retail environment.

Familiarity with Microsoft Intune, Azure, and conditional access.

Exposure to backup technologies (e.g. Veeam, Datto, or similar).

Awareness of cybersecurity fundamentals (endpoint protection, encryption, MFA, phishing prevention).

Relevant industry certifications such as CompTIA A+/Network+, Microsoft 365 Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator, or Azure Fundamentals (AZ‑900).

Previous experience in the motor industry or supporting dealership management systems (DMS).
