Home Care Supervisor Laois Region Following continued growth and expansion across Laois, Comfort Homecare is recruiting a Home Care Supervisor to support operational coordination and scheduling.
About the Role As Home Care Supervisor, you'll be an integral part of a high-performing team, working alongside the Home Care Manager to lead, support, and develop our healthcare staff. You'll ensure we consistently deliver quality care to the highest standards while supporting our clients to live as independently as possible in the comfort of their own homes. This role requires strong organisational abilities, excellent networking skills, and solid IT proficiency. Key Responsibilities Community-Based Duties
Report directly to the Home Care Manager
Conduct spot checks with Healthcare Assistants in the community
Complete client reviews to assess ongoing care quality
Keep all healthcare staff informed of company policies, procedures, and updates
Carry out client assessments and maintain records on the company IT system
Act as the primary liaison between the company, clients, and their families
Ensure all client home files are maintained in proper order
Coordinate staff shadowing arrangements with the Home Care Manager/Scheduling Team, ensuring Health&Safety compliance
Provide emergency cover and rapid response for new care packages and hospital discharges
Monitor and evaluate care quality, reporting concerns to the Home Care Manager
Support care team development and training
Collect journal notes from clients' homes
Deliver care plans, log sheets, gloves, and PPE to client homes as needed
Assist with Healthcare Assistant recruitment alongside the Home Care Manager and HR department
Office-Based Duties
Update online system documentation including reviews and spot checks
Develop weekly work plans with the Home Care Manager
Create systematic spot check schedules for healthcare staff
Manage filing and documentation
Provide scheduling support to coordinators during emergencies
Attend weekly team check-ins as required
Participate in weekly meetings with the Home Care Manager
Support regional growth initiatives in conjunction with the Home Care Manager
Weekend Responsibilities
Liaison with weekend scheduler
Carer spot checks and appraisals
Category B sign-offs
Shadow call sign-offs
Carer introductions to new clients
Client reviews and reassessments
Emergency care calls to cover staff absenteeism
Weekly time management planning
Essential Requirements
Relevant health or social care background
Full QQI Level 6 Major Award in Healthcare Support or equivalent qualification
Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
Valid full clean driving licence with access to a vehicle
Availability for a 5-out-of-7-day weekly schedule
Outstanding interpersonal skills with an empathetic approach
Proficient IT skills, particularly Microsoft Office
Strong organisational capabilities and efficient time management
