Guesthouse Assistants - Full Time - Start date: June 2026 This summer, we’re opening Ómós — a 16-bedroom Guesthouse and 40-seat Restaurant set on 4.2 acres just outside the heritage town of Abbeyleix, County Laois. The name Ómós — meaning homage, duty, and respect, reflects our intention behind the project: to create something lasting and meaningful. A Guesthouse and Restaurant that feel like they belong — that reflect our neighbourhood and community, and that generously welcome curiosity, craft, and discovery.As we prepare for our opening in July, we are now recruiting Guest House Assistants reporting directly to our Assistant Manager. In joiningÓmós, you will become a versatile and essential part of our Guesthouse team.This role is designed for a true all-rounder: someone who takes equal pride in the "behind-the-scenes" craft of housekeeping and the "front-of-house" warmth of guest service.You will be central to providing a seamless experience, bringing a positive, helpful energy to every guest interaction from check-in to breakfast. This role combines hands-on housekeeping with guest-facing hospitality, allowing us to deliver an experience that feels welcoming, intentional, and special.Therefore, the ideal candidate will have experience in a Guesthouse or a Boutique Hotel.Key Responsibilities: Guest Services&Front of House: Arrival&Welcome: Assist with the guest check-in process, ensuring a warm and professional first impression. Porterage: Support guests by bringing bags to their rooms and ensuring they are settled and comfortable. Breakfast Service: Support our counter-style breakfast service; maintaining a beautiful display and assisting guests with a light-touch, hospitable approach.Shift Flexibility: Working across breakfast and evening shifts to provide a consistent and helpful presence for our guests throughout the day. Maintain immaculate cleanliness and presentation of all guest rooms, suites, bathrooms, and public areas. Following daily work schedules, ensure rooms are prepared to luxury standards for arrivals, stayovers, and departures.Handle special guest requests with discretion and professionalism. Ensure adherence to health, safety, and hygiene regulations. Quality Control&Guest Experience Maintain consistency in room setup, amenities, and FOH presentation. Respond to guest feedback or requests professionally and efficiently. Ensure privacy, security, and confidentiality of all guests at all times. The Person: A versatile "all-rounder" who enjoys both physical tasks and guest interaction.Strong attention to detail with a passion for cleanliness and curated presentation. Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities across different departments. Discreet, trustworthy, and has a guest-focused approach. Good communication skills in English (additional languages an advantage).Working knowledge of health&safety and hygiene standards. Legally eligible to work full time in Ireland. Full driving license.
