Job Title: Sales Assistant (On a Fixed Term Contract from June to September)

Location: Birds Bakery, 11-15 Horse&Jockey Yard, Ashbourne. DE6 1GH

Hours: 14.5 hours per week

Salary:£12.71 per hour (depending on age, details below)

Purpose The purpose of a bakery sales assistant is to servecustomers, sell bakery products and help keep the shop clean and organised, aswell as a friendly and welcoming environment. Making sure customer service andquality is at the forefront of everything we do.

Responsibilities

Greetand serve customers in a friendly and helpful manner.

Recommendbakery items such as bread, cakes, and pastries.

Takecustomer orders and package products properly.

Operatethe till/cash register and handle payments.

Restockshelves and displays to keep products available and attractive.

Maintaincleanliness and hygiene in the shop and display areas.

Answercustomer questions about ingredients, prices, or products.

Upsellproducts to customers for example offering hot drinks with food, or a nicelittle treat in upselling confectionaries goods.

Prepareand serve a range of hot and cold bakery and food-to-go / eat in products.

Shifts Saturday 8am - 4pm

Sunday 8am -3:30pm

Experience

Previousexperience in food retail is preferred but not essential as we will giveyou all the training you need to be successful.

Strongcommunication and customer service skills.

Apositive attitude and the ability to stay resilient in a busy environment.

Experiencehandling cash or working with tills / Card machines (training will beprovided).

Flexibilityto work shifts between Monday and Sunday.

Qualifications Training will be provided for suitable applicants.

4 weeks annual leave (Pro rata), increasing incrementally to 5 weeks after 5 years of continuous service, plus bank holidays

Age 17:£8.50 per hour
