Corrall Ireland– West Region 2 x Permanent Part‑Time Quality&Training Officers (Admin Grade VI)

Objectives of the Post

Work as a member of the Quality Enhancement&Development department in the West Region, reporting to the Head of Department/ designate with the primary role of ensuring that training requirements of Corlann West are being met. The role will also encompass other quality assurance requirements which will be identified.

Take an active part in ensuring that the day‑to‑day operations of the Service reflect the ethos and vision of Corlann Ireland and that all co‑workers are meeting the needs of the individuals supported by Corlann.

Participate proactively as a member of a team and contribute positively to the ongoing development of effective teamwork.

Participate in a range of organisational development projects that reflect a human rights‑based approach to service delivery that promotes and supports persons supported to direct their own lives.

Reporting/Responsible To Head of Quality Enhancement&Development Department (QED)/ As designated by Head of QED.

Qualifications and Experience Essential Criteria

A minimum of a Level 7 on the QQI Framework – BA in Social Care Studies, Training&Development or equivalent relevant qualification in Health or Social Care, Nursing or in a relevant professional discipline.

Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in disability services, ideally supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities and/or autism.

Experience delivering training to adult learners.

Excellent communication and organisational skills.

Strong knowledge of person‑centred supports and disability standards.

Excellent facilitation, presentation, and coaching skills.

Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

A full clean driving licence and use of a car is an essential requirement of the post.

Desirable Criteria

Qualification in Training (e.g., Train the Trainer) or Quality Improvement methodologies is desirable.

Knowledge of HIQA standards, New Directions and Irish regulatory frameworks.

A strong knowledge of best practice, current developments, emerging issues and legislation in relation to the provision of health or social care services.

High level of IT proficiency.

Working Hours 35 hours per fortnight based on a 5‑day duty roster. Contracted hours of work are liable to change between the hours of 8 am and 8 pm to meet the requirements of the service. The Corlann model of service is based on Personal Outcome Measures requiring employees to be flexible in their working hours to provide a quality servicedelivery for each individual. Applications for blended working will be accepted following successful completion of probation.

Annual Leave 30 days per annum pro‑rata per annum.

Remuneration Department of Health Grade VI (Clerical) salary scale (01/02/2026) – €57,898 to €70,734 gross per annum. The reference salary applying to the grade ranges from a minimum of €57,325 to a maximum of €66,017 gross basic per annum. After three years on the maximum point, a Long Service Increment applies bringing the annual salary to €68,372 gross basic per annum. After a further three years another Long Service Increment applies bring the annual salary to the maximum of €70,734 gross per annum.

Probation A probationary period of nine months from the date of appointment applies to the post. The employment may be terminated at any time during the probationary period should the employer find that the appointee is unsuitable to continue employment. The probation period may be extended at the Employer’s discretion.

Tenure These positions are permanent, part‑time and pensionable. Post 1 is based in Galway. Post 2 is based in Roscommon.

Travel The person appointed must provide his/her own car and must furnish an indemnity from insurers in favour of the employer. Travelling expenses at the appropriate rate will be paid in respect of travel necessarily performed in the discharge of duty.
