Purchasing Assistant– Manufacturing – Roscommon
Are you an organised and detail-oriented Purchasing Assistant looking for your next opportunity in a busy manufacturing environment? We are currently recruiting for a Purchasing Assistant to join a growing company in Roscommon. This role is ideal for someone with purchasing, procurement, supply chain, or inventory administration experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and coordinating with suppliers and internal departments.This is a permanent role offering strong career development opportunities within an established manufacturing business. Key Responsibilities
As the Purchasing Assistant, you will: Raise and process purchase orders using the ERP system Maintain accurate purchasing, supplier, and pricing records Track and monitor purchase orders to ensure materials arrive on time for production schedules Liaise with suppliers regarding delivery updates, shortages, damaged goods, and returnsRequest supplier credits and organise replacement stock where required Work closely with Accounts Payable to resolve invoice discrepancies and pricing variances Coordinate with Stock Control, Logistics, and Project teams to ensure smooth operations Support the Purchasing Manager with reporting, administration, and process improvementsAssist with supplier communication and purchasing documentation Ensure purchasing data and inventory information are kept fully up to date Skills&Experience Required
Minimum 2 years’ experience in a purchasing, procurement, buying, or supply chain administration role Experience working within manufacturing, engineering, construction, or industrial sectors is advantageous Strong ERP system experience and proficiency in Microsoft Excel and MS Office Excellent attention to detail and organisational skillsStrong communication and supplier coordination abilities Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines Positive, team-oriented attitude with strong problem-solving skills Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a busy operations team What’s on Offer
