2 Permanent full-time Team Leader positions (CNM1 / Social Care Leader) for Cruachan Services covering Strokestown, Elphin, Tulsk, Ballinagare and Ballaghaderreen areas. Job Ref: 98160. A panel may be formed from which subsequent Team Leader appointments within Cruachan Services may be offered over the next 6 to 12 months.The Role
The Team Leader has a pivotal role in managing the day to day delivery of services. The Team Leader will provide leadership and supervision to teams while ensuring the development of the service in line with national standards and best practice. The main responsibilities are to assist the Team Manager with the management of the services, such as– person centred planning in line with Personal Outcome Measures ethos and practice, resource management and staffing, including rosters, staff development, facilitating communication and professional leadership in order to ensure a good quality of life for the people supported.Qualifications / Experience
Eligible applicants will be those who on the closing date for the competition have: A relevant 3rd level qualification in Nursing and current Live Register Certificate from NMBI Be registered, or be eligible for registration, on the Social Care Workers Register maintained by the Social Care Workers Registration Board at CORU. See list of recognised Social Care qualifications at: a Schedule 3 qualification (see below Note 1*). See list of recognized Schedule 3 qualifications at: Hold a comparable qualification recognised by the Social Care Workers Registration Board at CORUApplicants who satisfy the conditions set out in Section 91 of the Health and Social Care Professionals Act 2005 must submit proof of application for registration with the Social Care Workers Registration Board at CORU. The acceptable proof is correspondence confirming their application for registration as a Section 91 applicant was received by 30 November 2025.And Hold an appropriate qualification in Health and Social Care Management (QQI Level 6) is a necessary requirement of the post. If the successful applicant does not hold such a qualification, a commitment to obtaining the qualification prior to taking up the post will be required. Previous experience of effectively managing a staff team and demonstrated ability to pro-actively lead, motivate, empower and achieve results through people is an advantage.A minimum of three years post qualification experience, working with people with an Intellectual Disability, is essential. Demonstrate a clear commitment to community integration and active citizenship for all people with disabilities with experience in human rights and advocacy. Experience of working in the area of autism and behaviours of concern would be an advantage.Skills
Demonstrate leadership, communication and team working skills. Knowledge and experience managing people’s well-being using an evidence based approach to person-centred planning e.g. Personal Outcome Measures. Knowledge and understanding of the National Standards for Residential Services for Children and Adults with Disabilities, the Health Act 2007 (Care and Support of Residents in Designated Centres for Persons (Children and Adults with Disabilities) Regulations 2013) and New Directions for Day Services.Ability to exercise good judgement, discretion and confidentiality; be creative and self-motivated; communicate effectively in both written and verbal forms; and cooperate in a team environment with a person-centred philosophy. A full clean manual driving licence, qualifying you to drive manual transmission vehicles on Irish roads, and use of your own car is an essential requirement.Fluency in verbal and written English is an essential requirement of this post. Working Hours
Contracted hours depend on the grade of the successful candidate: 78 hours per fortnight (SCL grade) or 75 hours per fortnight (CNM1 grade), rostered flexibly on a 7-day duty roster. The Team Leader will work as a frontline member of the team with protected time to carry out specific team leader duties. A sleep-in and/or night duty commitment may be a requirement of posts in residential services, for which the appropriate allowance will be paid.Annual Leave
Leave will be granted according to the agreed leave assigned to the grade of the successful candidates (Social Care Leader or CNM1). Annual leave must be planned in advance with the Team Manager to ensure appropriate and adequate cover is provided for the service. Remuneration
Based on the salary scale attached to the grade of the successful candidates (Social Care Leader or CNM1; pro-rata for part-time). Salary quoted is based on a 39-hour working week. The successful candidate will be granted incremental credit subject to satisfactory verification of previous public sector service.Tenure
