Assistant Director of Nursing, Sligo

Role Overview

Exciting role based in Sligo for an experienced Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to provide strong clinical leadership and ensure the delivery of high-quality, person-centred care in our Sligo nursing home. Reporting to the Director of Nursing (DON), the ADON will manage day-to-day clinical operations, oversee staff, coordinate rostering, ensure clinical governance, and monitor audits and risk management. The ADON will also deputise for the DON as required.Key Responsibilities

Maintain exceptional nursing and social care standards in line with HIQA and company policies. Conduct ward rounds, review care plans, and monitor resident outcomes. Lead, mentor, and support CNMs, staff nurses, and carers; manage induction, training, and performance appraisals. Oversee clinical practice, medication management, audits, hygiene, and risk assessments.Promote effective teamwork and communication across the clinical and wider care team. Engage with residents, families, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure person-centred care. Ensure compliance with Health&Safety and environmental standards. Skills&Attributes

Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills. Collaborative, with the ability to contribute effectively to a senior management team. Results-driven, flexible, and able to motivate and inspire staff. Qualifications&Experience
