Description

The Position

We wish to appoint a junior Privacy and AI Governance Consultant in our Consulting Division. The candidate will work within a collaborative and supportive team that delivers a range of privacy and data protection consulting

services.

The role will include occasionally working on client sites as part of our outsourced Data Protection 

Officer (DPO) service, delivering data protection impact assessments, legitimate interest assessments and other General Data Protection Regulation advisory services. In addition, you will support the build out of our AI Governance services which enable client to manage business risk and responsibly integrate AI into their

organistions.

This is an exciting opportunity to become involved in a rapidly growing area in professional services. The successful candidate will be part of a strong consulting team working in a dynamic and ever-changing technical environment and will have the opportunity to progress their career with Forvis Mazars. The team is part of our global Forvis Mazars Digital Trust group which is also delivering, and developing services associated with GDPR Certification, the AI Act, the Digital Services Act and other legislation.

This is an excellent opportunity for an individual to either start their career or with several years of experience in a

Data Protection or Risk and Compliance role and would like the challenge of transitioning to a consulting role. 

Key Responsibilities

Simultaneously working with multiple client engagements of varying size, scope and complexityWork with seniors in providing advice to clients on data protection, GDPR compliance and other privacy related mattersSupporting all aspects of client engagement from scope definition to deliveryConducting scoping meetings and developing tailored solution project plans for clientsDrafting plans and reports including proposed solutions and recommendationsConducting day-to-day DPO activities to support the accountability principleConcisely summarise the results of analysis undertaken (verbal and written)Identify challenges, risks, problems and opportunitiesLiaise and maintain contact with staff at all levels of client organisationsContributing to the continued development of the privacy consultancySupport business development, including preparation of proposals and tender responses

Ideal Candidate

We are looking for candidates that meet most of the below requirements or have the desire and ability to address any of the requirements that they do not currently meet:

Strong ability to engage with clients and communicate practically and clearlyAbility to analyse complex information and identify key and relevant points, including communicating in a relevant and easy to understand mannerUnderstanding of data protection law and regulation and how to apply it within the businessDesire to be part of a fast-moving motivated team and pursue a career in data protection and or AI governance.Experience working in a data protection or privacy compliance role, including compliance with privacy legislation or relevant professional services experienceStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent written and oral communication skillsGood personal organisation, self-motivation and project management skillsData protection qualification or working towards the same
