Role Overview

As Hire Supervisor, you will have full oversight of daily hire operations — managing people, plant, and processes. You'll drive sales growth, develop new business relationships, and ensure your team delivers outstanding service to an established customer base. This is a leadership role with real autonomy and the support of a major national group behind you.

What You'll Be Doing

•     Managing all aspects of the hire department's daily operations

•     Overseeing maintenance and servicing of plant, electrical, and engine-run tools

•     Leading, training, and developing your hire team

•     Building and nurturing strong customer relationships to drive sales

•     Implementing and overseeing health & safety compliance across the department

•     Conducting regular stock checks and taking responsibility for all department assets

•     Working with senior management on strategic planning and business development

•     Maintaining accurate records on the hire computer system

•     Providing expert customer demonstrations on the safe use of plant and equipment

What We're Looking For

•     Substantial experience in the hire industry, ideally in a supervisory or senior operative role

•     Strong people management and team leadership skills

•     A solid understanding of plant, tool, and equipment maintenance

•     Commercial awareness and the ability to drive sales and new business

•     Health & Safety awareness and a commitment to safe working practices

•     Excellent organisational and communication skills
