Role Responsibilities The Leisure Centre Manager is responsible for the overall management, operation, and development of the hotel’s leisure facilities, ensuring a high-quality experience for guests and members. This includes overseeing the swimming pool, gym, fitness classes, and wellness services while maintaining the highest standards of safety, hygiene, and customer service.
Key Responsibilities Operations Management
Oversee the day-to-day running of the leisure centre, including pool, gym, and associated facilities
Ensure all areas are clean, safe, and compliant with health and safety regulations
Manage opening and closing procedures and ensure smooth daily operations
Team Leadership
Recruit, train, and supervise leisure centre staff, including lifeguards, fitness instructors, and reception team
Develop staff schedules and ensure adequate coverage at all times
Conduct regular performance reviews and provide ongoing training
Customer Experience
Deliver exceptional customer service and ensure a welcoming environment for hotel guests and members
Handle customer queries, feedback, and complaints professionally and efficiently
Develop programs and activities to enhance member engagement and retention
Health&Safety Compliance
Ensure full compliance with all relevant legislation, including pool safety standards and emergency procedures
Maintain accurate records of safety checks, incidents, and maintenance
Act as the designated safety officer for the leisure centre
Financial Management
Manage budgets, control costs, and monitor financial performance of the leisure centre
Maximise revenue through memberships, classes, and services
Prepare regular reports for senior management
Sales&Marketing
Promote leisure centre memberships and services to hotel guests and the local community
Work with the hotel’s marketing team on campaigns and promotions
Identify opportunities to grow membership and increase usage
Key Skills&Requirements
Previous experience in a supervisory or management role within a leisure centre, gym, or hospitality environment
Recognised Lifeguard or Pool Emergency Response certification
Pool Plant Operations Certificate
Strong leadership and team management skills
Excellent communication and customer service abilities
Knowledge of health and safety regulations
Desirable Qualifications
Fitness instruction or personal training qualification
First Aid certification
Experience with membership systems or booking software
