The General Operative will report to a member of the Greenvolt Ireland electrical installation team. This is a support role and will involve travel to different sites each day with the electrician, supporting in the installation of solar PV related equipment.
Key Accountabilities
Support team by having a proactive attitude towards all tasks and follow their instructions
Support qualified tradespeople in electrical duties
Perform pre-start, hygiene and safety checks as required
Ensure site workspace in line with good housekeeping conditions
Report challenges, safety issues to PICW/Supervisor
Conduct routine checks on tools, equipment and machines to ensure they are in good working order
Perform general labouring duties as required
Follow company policies and procedures to uphold quality and EHS standards and ensure compliance with regulations
Prepare, clear and concise reports on jobs completed
Support the team in meeting daily targets by working collaboratively and efficiently
Actively participate in conducting the pre-work safety risk assessment and implementing the job site safety plan
Maintain consistent high quality work standards
Any other works as directed by your line manager
Qualifications
Experience in construction and / or electrical first fix
Ability to read from drawings and have excellent attention to detail is desirable
Basic knowledge of hand and power tools, particularly those used in construction and electrical settings
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Full driving licence and willingness to travel nationwide, working in various environment, including outdoors construction sites
Problem solver with strong attention to detail and organisational skills
Strong work ethic and commitment, ability to work in a fast‑paced department
Valid Safe Pass and/or First Aid Response an advantage
Work as part of a team and independently, assist and guide others as needed
Be able to assemble small components
Ability to operate a Forklift / Teleporter a bonus
