Job Summary Zurich Insurance Europe AG, Ireland Branch is looking for an Agri Market Facing Underwriter to join the Personal Lines Department. The role involves managing the Farm Protection Business for Direct Customers and Broker partners, developing and maintaining relationships, and contributing to the delivery of profitable business results.

Your role

Under direct supervision, underwrite and analyze new and renewal business using the Zurich Way of Underwriting framework within delegated authority levels.

Measure exposure and analyze risk primarily for business referred by online quotation tools/products.

Quote and set coverage for cases not automatically rated or accepted.

Negotiate terms and conditions.

Contribute to account management and build relationships to support customer/business acquisition and retention.

Implement agreed technical standards, controls, practices, and procedures to maintain underwriting discipline.

Proactively develop ideas and work on new or enhanced propositions based on technical, customer, and distributor insights.

Adhere to Central Bank compliance standards of operation.

Ensure high quality assurance throughout the underwriting process.

Escalate issues to the appropriate authority in a timely manner.

Maintain all customer underwritings records in accordance with regulatory/statutory and internal requirements.

Relationships Internal Relationships Actively engage and interact with Risk Engineering, Claims, Underwriting Technical Centre, Distribution Management, Proposition Development, and other functional areas.

External Relationships Engage and participate in promotion of Zurich at events when appropriate.

Your Skills&Experience Qualification, Knowledge&Experience

Minimum of 2 Grade C3/H5 at Higher Level in the Leaving Certificate (or equivalent) or FETAC Level 6 Diploma.

Bachelor’s degree and/or holds or is working towards relevant professional qualifications such as CIP, ACII.

Minimum 3 years of industry experience in Commercial Insurance.

Underwriting Authority Level Minimum 1.

Excellent technical insurance knowledge, including specific knowledge in the Agricultural sector.

Skills&Competencies

Advanced knowledge of the Insurance Industry, with specific knowledge of the Agricultural sector considered beneficial.

Thorough understanding of the relevant systems, sales practices and product offerings.

Solid understanding of Underwriting practices, rules and performance metrics.

Experience contributing to and working effectively as part of a successful team.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills supporting the development of productive relationships with key customers.
