About the Role Are you a Mixed or Large Animal Veterinarian looking to take the next step in your career? At Wexford Veterinary Hospital we’re seeking an experienced Veterinary Surgeon (ideally with around 2+ years in practice) to join our busy, supportive team.

Responsibilities Large Animal

Farm visits for herd/flock health, fertility, calvings, lambings, and emergencies

Building long‑term, trusted relationships with local farming clients

Routine preventative work and clinical procedures

Small Animal

Consultations and routine care (training available if required)

Emergency and routine surgeries

In‑patient management within a well‑equipped hospital

On‑Call

1 in 4 rota with protected time off in lieu

Fair, team‑based rota supported by experienced colleagues

Shifts rotate between 8am‑5pm and 11am‑8pm, with shared weekend cover

Qualifications

Qualified, VCI registered Veterinary Surgeon

Strong interest in large animal medicine and surgery

Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team

Willingness to develop small animal clinical skills if not already experienced

Commitment to professional development and continuous learning

Previous exposure or experience in large animal work is preferred but full training and support will be provided
