Oversee overall operations and ensure compliance with regulatory and organizational standards
Maintain high-quality nursing and clinical standards; ensure best practices in resident care
Promote residents’ wellbeing through social engagement and person-centered activities
Manage admissions, discharges, and bed occupancy efficiently
Foster open communication and strong relationships with residents’ families
Lead, mentor, and support nursing and care staff; oversee recruitment, training, and performance management
Manage budgets, resources, and administrative operations effectively
Ensure a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for residents, staff, and visitors
Requirements
- A registered General Nurse on the Register of Nurses held by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland
- Evidence of continuous professional development
- A postgraduate qualification in Nursing Management, Gerontology, Healthcare Leadership, or Healthcare Management, or willingness to undertake same
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in nursing older persons within the previous 6 years
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a management capacity within the health and social care sector
- Ability to communicate effectively with residents, family members, multidisciplinary teams, management, and external agencies including Health Information and Quality Authority, Health Service Executive, and GPs
- Post-registration qualification in dementia care and gerontology is highly desirable
