General Manager for Business Support Unit, Bainisteoir …, Wicklow

The Role

The General Manager of the Business Support Unit will provide strategic financial leadership, governance, and operational support for the services within the South Dublin and Wicklow Integrated Healthcare Area (IHA), with a wider remit across the Integrated Healthcare Service Area.

The General Manager will lead the Business Support Unit and oversee the stewardship of significant public funding, ensuring resources are managed in line with national policy, statutory requirements, governance frameworks, and service priorities.

The Person

1. Statutory Registration, Professional Qualifications, Experience, etc.

(a) Eligible applicants will be those who on the closing date for the competition:

I. Member of a recognised or prescribed accountancy body such as ACCA, CPA, ACMA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent;

And

II. Record of achievement in delivering key financial analysis and solutions to senior management within a large complex organisation;

And

III. High-level user experience of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) financial system software in a large organisation;

And

IV. Strong Experience of strategic financial management and financial planning, as relevant to this role;

And

V. Effective communication and stakeholder management skills

And

VI. Record of responding positively to, and leading where relevant, change management in a complex environment;

And

VII. Possess the requisite knowledge, ability and experience to fulfil the duties of the post as outlined above.

And

VIII. Good working knowledge of the healthcare system

2. Health

A candidate for and any person holding the office must be fully competent and capable of undertaking the duties attached to the office and be in a state of health such as would indicate a reasonable prospect of ability to render regular and efficient service.

3. Character

Each candidate for and any person holding the office must be

of good character.
